Vandy Bennett

Vandy has been interested in medieval art and craft since she was a small child. She is the daughter or Morgan and June Hall, both of whom are artists. Vandy has been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a medieval and renaissance living history group, since 1992. In the SCA she is known as Dame Aelfgifu verch Morgan, and was recently elevated to the Order of the Laurel, an honor given for her excellence in the arts. In 2004 she graduated from Portland State University with honors, majoring in Art History and Sculpture. She currently works for Historic Workshop LLC and teaches art classes for the Chehalem Park and Recreation district in Newberg, Oregon. Vandy's interests range from book binding and glass blowing to juggling, and she is involved in many of the design and production processes here at the Historic Workshop.
