Stacy DeLoeStacy made her first glass bead in 2001. She was invited to a
bead-making party in a yurt owned by a friend. Bead making was the
most addictive craft to which she'd ever put her hands. In the week
after the party, Stacy purchased all the basic equipment and supplies
to make glass beads on her own. Teaching herself from Cindy Jenkins'
"How to Make Glass Beads", she made her first twenty beads in that
first week. Six years and hundreds of beads later, Stacy is an
established glass artist with a passion for both creativity and
historic recreation. She holds a degree in anthropology and is
currently working on a second degree in graphic design. Stacy has been
involved with the Society for Creative Anachronism since 1989, where
she is known as Rafny Garansdottir. In addition to glass bead making,
Stacy also makes wire-linked jewelry and enjoys working on various
textile projects including feltmaking, cardweaving, and applique.
