These shift ornaments are based on silver 9th to 10th century Magyar (Hungarian) ornaments from the Deri Museum, Debrecen, inventory number IV.90.93.3. Our ornaments are bronze and cast and finished in our workshop here in Oregon. Each ornament is backed with two loops so it may be sewn onto clothing or leather goods. In conquest era Hungry such items were often sewn around the neck line of women’s garments. Similar designs of ornaments were also utilized by other nomadic tribes. Each ornament measures 1 1/8” x ¾”.
